A regional theatre just two blocks above Downtown Millburn, NJ’s shopping district, is our beloved PaperMill Playhouse. With wonderful musical, comedy and dramatic productions through out the year and meaningful education programs for children and young adults, as well as a full schedule of child- friendly plays, this was the original home of an actual paper mill.
The theater operated for decades before a fire destroyed the old building in 1982. The cool thing is this really was a paper mill in the old days.
People drive from all over the state to see musicals, dramas, comedies and many special performances throughout the year to promote various charities and performance workshops. For decades families have come with several generations and enjoyed fine or casual dining in downtown Millburn before or afer the show. The onsite FM Kirby Carriage house is also a fun place for theater goers to dine or meet for networking events, meetings and parties.
The line up for this season begins with the fabulous musical comedy HAIRSPRAY in September 2010.
